The worst thing about Merlin and Arthur’s friendship/relationship is that Merlin has been serving Arthur for nearly a decade, and Arthur still treats him badly, despite Merlin’s unwavering loyalty and bravery.

I get so tired of seeing certain Merthur shippers AND certain Arwen shippers paint themselves as tolerant, reasonable long-suffering martyrs and the entire other ship as a group of emotional sadists. There are there are nice, normal people in both groups that don’t deserve the bad reputation a few obnoxious extremists give the ship. Just because one of those obnoxious extremists doesn’t agree with you, that doesn’t give you the right to stop to their level by being obnoxious back.

I absolutely love to see Arthur’s reaction when he finds out something about Merlin which he didn’t know before. You can see in his eyes how amazed he is and you can see his cute yet failed attempts to figure Merlin out. It intrigues him that Merlin is a riddle but I think that he wished Merlin wasn’t so secretive. But that is one element that keeps this bromance/romance/friendship alive.
