The parallels visible in Merlin/Arthur and Uther/Gaius are kind of painful. I don’t want them to eventually become like that.

I’ve seen some people complain about how Merlin didn’t use magic in A Servant of Two Masters, but Morgana says that with the femorrah’s help, “everything that makes (him) Merlin will be gone.” Magic is a huge part of who Merlin is, so it makes sense that he would forget that he has it.

You can tell by the way Arthur stares in Merlin’s eyes that their love for each other is eternal.

The worst thing about Merlin and Arthur’s friendship/relationship is that Merlin has been serving Arthur for nearly a decade, and Arthur still treats him badly, despite Merlin’s unwavering loyalty and bravery.

I actually find Merlin to be an extremely selfish character. He’s screwed over A LOT of people for this “peace” and “Albion” (which still hasn’t happened because Arthur just can’t open his mind because heaven forbid, his father hated magic so he should, too). Both characters just annoy me. At this point, I’m only watching the show for Morgana.

For me, whether Merlin kills Mordred or not he’s still morally right. If he kills Mordred he’s doing it because he knows, with absolute certainty, that Mordred will kill Arthur. If he doesn’t kill Mordred it’s because he has too much heart to do so. It’s this going-back-and-forth thing that is going to get real old real fast.

It’s quite ridiculous how when you say you dislike something Merlin’s done, or you aren’t really interested in his character, you’re ripped apart. Merlin is NOT an angel. He is NOT a saint. He is NOT a hero. He has made many, many BAD mistakes and “he’s adorable” or “he’s so pretty” or “he’s a poor fragile misunderstood baby” doesn’t excuse that. The same applies for Arthur, you know. Accept the fact they’ve done some terribly shitty things - doesn’t mean you can’t like them.

I was so proud of Arthur for testing his theory that Merlin’s sudden ability to juggle made no sense

I want Sefa to join with Morgana to take down the King that killed her father, but I also want her to remember that Merlin really was kind to her, and maybe decide they are using him like they were using her. Watching her try to convince Morgana to rescue Merlin, or better yet try to do it herself, it would be wonderful.

Merlin deserves all the happiness in the world.
