It gives me feelings that Excalibur was actually forged by Guinevere’s father, everything that’s good, beautiful and important in Arthur’s life has to do with his Guinevere, she’s a blessing for him and for Albion.

When I watched the movie Excalibur of John Boorman, I realized that Guinevere gave back the sword Excalibur to Arthur when he visited her in the nunnery. She had kept it under her bed as it is said in some of the legends. When I watched the episode Excalibur, I realized that Gwen was keeping the sword under a bed when Merlin asked her for her father’s best sword. It’s another retelling of the same concept. And it’s brilliant.
