I don’t understand why the biggest slash ship (ship in generally, really) in the fandom is Merthur. I personally feel that Merlin has more chemistry with Gwaine and Lancelot. Plus, I feel both of them would be more openly loving and affirming with Merlin than Arthur is, and Merlin needs all the love and affirmation he can get.

The ship wars in this fandom amuse me. It seems like everyone else is waging battle and I’m just in a corner quietly shipping Lancelot and Merlin with the intensity of a million suns. :)

I really liked season one for shipping reasons: there was a little bit of everything! GwenxMerlin, MerlinxMorgana, ArthurxMerlin, GwenxMorgana, MorganaxArthur, GwenxLancelot, LancelotxArthur, LancelotxMerlin, GwenxArthur, MorganaxLancelot! It was like a free-for-all ;)

Lancelot and Merlin remind me of Kurt and Blaine from Glee. Blaine always has Kurt’s back and Kurt shares everything with him.

Lancelot is my favorite character on Merlin and in the legend, and I don’t like how people use him to justify shipping characters together. He did what he did for Merlin and their friendship was one of the best friendships in TV history.

I’m a huge Merthur shipper but I can’t deny there was a great amount of love between Lancelot/Merlin.
