I would 100% satisfied with a show that was nothing but the adventures of Merlin and Gwen.
When I see the Merthur/ Arwen ship wars get ugly, I often puff up with pride inside that I am a Merlin/Gwen shipper. In my tiny little “Merwen” land, there are no allegations (deserved or otherwise) of racism/sexism/homophobia, nor hate for the two characters I love most. What Merlin/Gwen DOES have is a small but committed group of very friendly, harmonious, and talented fans.

When this show started, I was a Merthur fan. Then after season 2, I was an Arwen fan. Then 4x09 happened. Merlin/Gwen anyone?
I thought the little crush that Gwen had on Merlin in early S1 was really cute. :)
I miss the Gwen/Merlin friendship in later seasons, and I love the moments like in 3x08 and 4x07!
I hope Queen Guinevere will have a maid and that the interaction between her and Merlin is amazing. Maybe a bit like the one he had with Gwen in the beginning of S1, somewhere between friendship and flirting.
I miss the ol’ buddy cop relationship that Merlin and Guinevere had in season one!
I really liked season one for shipping reasons: there was a little bit of everything! GwenxMerlin, MerlinxMorgana, ArthurxMerlin, GwenxMorgana, MorganaxArthur, GwenxLancelot, LancelotxArthur, LancelotxMerlin, GwenxArthur, MorganaxLancelot! It was like a free-for-all ;)
Even though I knew Gwen and Arthur were endgame: for an episode or two in the very beginning of the show, I shipped her with Merlin. I regret nothing.
Merwen is my OTP. I still believe they had the best chemistry of any pair in the show in the early episodes of S1, and I think they have more in common than either of them do with Arthur.
